Do You Watch the Movies on Cruise Ships?

Most cruise ships offer movies either in your stateroom over the TV or in a public area theater or both.  Do you watch them in either of these locations?  What do you think of the types of movies offered?

I don't really see much wrong with resurrecting old posts --

Deconz wasn't here when the post was originally active and the information is not outdated.

However, I still don't watch anything other than the ship location channel, and occasionally the Morning Show.

BDRebel, I don't think there's anything wrong with resurrecting old threads (for those members who can get beyond the first page of threads) if the replies are relevant. Wishing someone Bon Voyage and they've actually been back for a few months did seem like a post just to increase the leader board count.

Weve ve watched a couple of movies out on the Lido deck but we aren't in our room long enough to watch one, unless at bedtime. Even then we usually only have the ship's map on the screen.

That may have been meBig Smile. I also remember posting my thoughts on a thread about CruiseLine and ShipMate before I realized somebody had resurrected a thread that was 4 years old.

Sometimes it is easy to accidentally resurrect a thread (by navigating to the main topics on the left side menu and clicking on a lightly used topic, the top 15 can cover a year or more.)

Sometimes mistakes happen - I think we should let it slide a bit easier. Just my own opinion, which, when coupled with a couple of thousand dollars, will get you a free cruiseHappy

We will watch movies sometimes, depending on the movie and what other activities are on going and of course what our energy levels are at the time. Usually we will not make plans to watch a movie it is always more of a game time decision.

As much activity as there is on the cruise, I'd rather stay occupied being out and about, however, I have been able to catch up on a few movies while getting ready for bed, or watching BBC Planet Earth.
I do enjoy watching the ships moving map, I can be mesmerized just watching that....guess that has to do with being a flight attendant and watching the moving map on the plane.

I am waiting for them to air The Poseidon Adventure, either the 1972 version or 2006 version Big Smile

Just like I'm waiting for any airline to air the movie Alive for their inflight movie. (yeah, I have a sick sense of humor)

I saw that Danyl had posted on this thread months ago, so I thought I would update our experiences with the DiveIn Movies. On the Triumph, i made it out one night when she was tired to seee a bit of SING, there was a yellow line of pixels running across the screen. The next night or so we stopped by to see the last 20 minutes of Spiderman Homecoming. It was a nice experience, but we did not stay out there wot watch Wonder Woman, due to the temps and Kyle was catching a cold already.

Danyl did not like the lounge chairs due to her mobility issues so she sat in her scooter.

I've always wanted them to show a double feature of the original versions of "The Titanic" and "The Poseidon Adventure". For an overseas flight, I think a marathon of the "Airport" movies would be great.

LOL! Just gave me an idea for a new thread. Here goes.....

It is a lot of fun to watch a movie out on the big screen. Happy Just wish the popcorn had butter in itNervous

Sometimes, it depends on what other activities are offered at the time. For example, on out last cruise, we wanted to see "Hidden Figures". However, they had a live show at the same time in the theater....and since I never miss out on a live show, guess which one I picked!

PS, we did eventually end up seeing the movie...we got it on DVD for my Dad on Father's Day.
