We certainly tried it on a number of days on the NCL Jade but having the Ultimate Beverage Package, it was nice to try without parting with any cash or debit on your account

I have tried some of Drink of the Day over the decades,  but I'm more into simple drinks like red wine, beer or whiskey,   never got into the fancy shancy drinks.

Yes we do take advantage of the daily cocktail specials, but generally only on Princess in the before dinner Exclusive Elite Lounge for elite and platinum guests where hors d'oeuvres and half priced cocktails are available, this is much appreciated and we hate to miss one. The half price cocktail charge doesn't just apply to the cocktail offered during a given evening but includes all cocktails offered at half price during the course of the cruise. My favorite has been their special margaritas, which I order every time.

Although, on our last cruise on the Caribbean Princess a few weeks ago the bartender on that ship didn't make those margaritas anything like they did on the Regal which we were on just a few weeks before that.

I might add that the spread they put out almost every afternoon/evening at the Elite Lounge is pretty good as well. They serve a different variety of items every time.

What we really like on the Grand Class of the larger Princess ships is that this occurs in one half the Skywalkers Lounge high above the rest of the ship in the stern rendering a beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding sea. These gatherings aren't very crowded as a rule which creates a truly quiet romantic before dinner atmosphere.

Unfortunately, when the Captain's party for repeat guests & all Captain Club members occurs they cancel that evenings Elite Lounge event. We shun those obligatory gatherings since they are almost always crammed with folk falling all over each other to get at the hors d'oeuvres table which is overwhelmed with "double dippers" hovering over all the food. At one time the waiters used to serve you individually at these gatherings, but that went away along with a lot of the other fine points of a quality cruise.

We have!

Sounds like the package deal worked for you.

The package was ideal that I managed to negotiate the drinks package with NCL after we had booked to be included. The drink prices as we are all aware are pretty expensive (certainly in comparison to my local pub in Blackburn), and it was ideal to try different cocktails without worrying about bar bills at up to $15 a drink (plus 18% gratuity). The cocktail bar on the Jade was where we spent most evenings. Looking forward to the same package next year on the Epic.

It depends on the container and whether it's something I want in my cabinet

He have had many drinks of the day, but always seem to resort back to the ones that we like that are the normal drinks.  Mind you I am very partial to the chocolate martini!

I might get the mocktail of the day, if offered, I might give it a go.  The problem is, not all cruise lines accommodate us non-drinkers with a option and when some of them do, the concoction is unpalatably sweet.

Best noquito I ever had was the Crown Princess.

That Elite Lounge sounds neat.
