Do you enjoy the music played poolside on your cruises?

I know it depends on the cruise line and the ship.  I am so glad that Carnival is bringing back steel drum music poolside.  I hate the really loud music that they play most of the time. It is not my type of music so I sit somewhere else.  What type of music do you enjoy poolside on cruises?  Or maybe you prefer no music?

I like just about any live music - steel drums especially.

If there was a choice between a DJ and nothing, I would choose nothing.

I agree, the DJ's lately on most shops just blast the music. Never thought I would say it was to loud.Happy

Music should be back ground at the pool unless it is an event like the sail away party.  I tend to hang out more and more in the Serenity area on the back of the ship with no kids and less noise.

The steel drums will be nice to have back,  the DJ just gets annoying.  I'm not in my 20's but I'm I still have my hearing no need to have the DJ so loud that you have to yell to somebody next to you.

I agree. Sometimes quiet is good.

We do as long as it is a smoke-free environment and we can grab a seat in the shade.  We both love live music so anywhere we can get in some tunes, we take it.

i always look for shade and away from smoke.  Many times the only shade is in the smoking area.Sad

I'm okay with the music as long as it's not too loud.

Why is it that the music played around the pool is always so loud?

My guess is that it is the acoustics.  All the surfaces are hard and do not absorb any sound.  Also, metal ship reverberates.  There is also the fact that the speaker volume is  probably set to eleven.  That won't help either.

Thanks for your great reply.  I try to sit as far away from the music as I can and still hear it.
