Do you always go ashore?

With the ships always do the same stops do you go ashore at a port you may have been to many times, or do you stay onboard and have the ship to yourselves? We tend to go ashore no matter how many times we've been to a port.

I can see the point for frequent cruisers to stay on board for some stops, But I also would like to at least stop at each place and but a tacky local souvenir. There are some cruisers who will not get off the ship in Nassau due to previous experience. When I get to that point, then I may want to do some spa days if they have something on special.

Usually yes, we always get off the ship when we're in port. However, my husband and I are discussing doing another Bahamas cruise since Carnival just added Princess Cays to their list of stops. If we do, we won't be getting off in Freeport. Not missing anything there, personally.

Yes, always. Even Nassau and Freeport even though they suck. I would feel I wasn't getting my money's worth if I did not get off the ship

Port days are the best days to be on the ship. Nice and quiet, no lines, good deck chairs and a lot of time port day specials at the spa. So if it is a port that I have done tons of times or one I have no interest in I'm good staying on the ship.

If we have been to a port several times, we will stay onboard. Just depends on our mood.

We don't have an excursion booked for St Kitts and are thinking of spending the day on the ship and enjoying the quieter time there, just to see what it's like to have a port day onboard.

I always get off for at least a bit of shopping. I may not stay off for long, though.

New rule for me ... If the port has had recent severe weather, I will no longer bother to get off the ship because it is not a fair test of the port due to the debris and mess in the streets and areas by the port! It's just not worth aggravating one's self to battle what nature spoiled. Better to go on a pleasant day when things are back to normal.

I always go ashore even if just to walk on solid ground. The only exception is Nassau. I may jut walk around the dock area and get back on without going into town or to the beach..

We stay on board in Progresso, but always get off in Cozumel(been to these ports 8 times)
