Dining on Royal Caribbean

I have asked for My Time dining on my Royal Caribbean cruises.  To those of you who have done both the traditional and My Time dining....which do you prefer and why?  I'm thinking about doing traditional on my next cruise on Symphony of the Seas but I will wait for the comments before I decide!

We’ve always chosen Carnival’s Your Time Dining. We don’t eat at the same time at home, so we certainly don’t necessarily want to on vacation. We like to be flexible with our days on holidays and not schedule anything except for an excursion, so scheduling a definite dining time seems crazy. We enjoy having different people around us at dinner and even having different wait staff, unlike the set time dining, where you may be seated with people you have not much in common with or who have terrible manners, etc. Having the same wait staff is of no importance - they are always rushed to do their job as it is, not there to become friends with the cruise guests they are serving.

We like MTD since we hate being on schedule on vacation. Some things such as excursions must be on schedule, but when we can opt out of definite times we do.

I prefer the early traditional dining.

For health reasons, we usually have dinner between 5 and 6 at home, so the early traditional is easy for us.

We also enjoy having the same wait staff, who usually have our preferred drinks ready for us when we are seated.

Generally we request a table for two, thus doing away with the "tablemates-from-he11" problem.

We always go with groups on cruises. We choose my time dining. That way each couple can do what they want during the day and get together over dinner to talk about our day. This works well for us
