Curious to see how Cruise lines handle empty water bottles / thermos?

Anyone cruise recently with a thermos or water bottle ... any problems?  I have a Swell that I use continuously and plan to pack it empty.

Usually, if they are empty, there is no problem. We had a coozie cup from the stay the night before and brought it on with no issues. People do it all the time.

I've mentioned before, since we have to fly anywhere there is a cruise ship, we don't take much. But we do buy thermal cups and water bottles on board the first stop we make at the store on board. We get morning coffee and water throughout the day . It's easier than bringing something on board.

I can't see a reason why the line would have a problem with an empty re-usable bottle or thermos. At most, they would just make sure it was empty.

If the Swell is in your luggage expect your luggage to be opened and the bottle inspected. If empty they will probably let it pass but if it has liquid in it they will take it. The swell is metal so will easily show on scanning and since they cannot see inside they will want to ensure no alcohol.

I travel with water  bottles and my own thermal coffee mug. Never have had a problem.

I bring my own container on board and have not had a problem with it, ever.  Generally speaking, I like a 16oz container with a screw on lid and a tight-closing flip top.  I also bring an assortment of decaf herbal teas to flavor my water (diffusion is a wonderful thing). These are very easily packed in a ziplock bag. I've not had a problem with these either.

Empty water bottles are not a problem.

When we are choosing some new thing all of us really need a good guide. On the Keepithot you can see one. It is the best platform for thermoses choosing. So many kinds of thermoses were allayed here with a detailed explanation of functioning. It really helps me once! Have a look to understand what I mean. You will like that because it is such a saving time!

Sometimes it is difficult to tell the difference between someone trying to help and someone spamming.

The only thing they ask is that you don't fill it directly from the machine.  Fill a cup/glass and pour that into your thermos.

Of course, they ask you to do that.  Too often people ignore that and do what they want.
