Cruising with young kids? Help!

My husband and I are taking our 5 year and 3 year old grandkids on a 4 night Carnival Cruise (leaving Miami and travelling to Half Moon Cay and Nassau). We have never cruised with young kids - any tricks or advice would be appreciated. We do plan to go to the Dr. Seuss Brunch. I got Faster to the Fun. And I booked a Cabana at Half Moon Cay. Anything to make the experience easier!

We have not sailed with small children but.... the "Camp Ocean" programs are definitely worth looking into.  Some children enjoy it so much the parents need to "bribe" them away.  It may not work for you, but it is worth a look.  Friends who have express a nice flexibility in the program, where spend time with the children and without them was a good mix.  Enjoy your adventure!

I say Seuss it up! Many of the Carnival ships have Seuss story time, the green eggs and ham breakfast, and a cool parade. The camp Ocean and Camp Carnival are fun options, and they will be in the same age group, so they will already have a friend. Enjoy the pools, and the special children's menus. Remember, all the walls in your room and the doors are covered metal, bring some magnets and let the little ones decorate to their hearts content...I enjoy this myself. Give them some downtime and take a nap, you will all feel better after. Take lots of pictures, the parents will love them now, and the children will love them later.

What a fun filled trip you will have. We will look for your review.

Good Cruising!

Never tried it. I'm thinking about a cruise over the summer with my grandkids

We take our grand daughters on a Carnival cruise once a year.  One is older(10) and she likes the pool and eats, plus the playlist shows. The young one loves camp ocean.  We do excursions that are fun for all of us.  Taking them that young age gives them something to remember when they grow up.  Some kids want Disney, but ours wants cruises. The photo below is a electric guitar player from England of Playlist productions.  My oldest grand daughter liked him and the cast will pose with the kids if you ask.
