Cruising with older children

Hi, we are first time cruisers..My son will turn 20 just before the cruise.  He is now having second thoughts about coming (we have already booked & paid).  Anyone else cruised with this age group and is there enough going on to entertain him.

We are on the harmony of the seas - is it worth him taking his surfboard for surfing in any of the ports - Jamaica or mexico

cheers

Harmony of the Seas!  Wow that's great.  I'll tell you the same thing a friend told me before my first cruise.  If he's bored, it's his fault.  There's plenty to do on the world's largest cruise ship.  Hope he goes and hope you all have a great time.

Well we travel with our 22,21and 21 yr old boys, and they do not get bored. As a matter of fact, they sleep very little. And we cruise the Carnival cruise lines. So in your case, he should have no problem staying busy. Harmony of the Seas should be well equipt to keep you all entertained. Happy Sailing!

Thanks everyone for your reply. I think he will enjoy himself. Just another quick question, what's everyone's thoughts with the drinks package & is a 20 yr old allowed to drink? Also last question - do we have to book dinner?

Thanks again

The drinking age on any US ported ship is 21 - no exceptions.

In Europe, they have different rules.

This is a huge ship!  there is plenty to do on it.  I have not cruised on the ship but he will enjoy himself.  Encourage him to step out of his comfort zone and just come along.
