Cruising During the Holidays

I like how subtle the ship was during the Holidays last December with minimal decoration and an inclusion of all holidays.  I enjoy getting away from the over the top holiday hustle and bustle ...I'm curious to see how Thanksgiving goes on my upcoming trip.

I have done Thanksgiving on Celebrity during a European cruise.  All they did was have a Turkey on the menu that night in the MDR.   It was a very nice Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings.   I had the Turkey,  the kid does not like it so had pasta.

Thanksgiving is my annual family cruise.  Have done 10 Thanksgiving cruises (NCL, Carnival, RCCL) and it's low key.  No special decorations.  The MDR will have turkey and all the fixins on the menu.  The shops will also have Black Friday sales.

We have never cruised for Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year's... but we enjoy sail for Halloween and Valentine's Day!

It's nice to hear about past Thanksgiving cruises.  We will be cruising Thanksgiving 2017 with the family.  Looking forward to it. Happy  May be starting a new tradition.

The Miracle was full bast Christmas - decorations all over. They even had an Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest. I didn't win, but it was fun.

I would really like to do a Christmas or New Year's cruise.

While not a holiday per se, I am ecstatic to be cruising on Election Day (having voted early) and don't want to hear the results of the election until my last day at sea when I may or may not come back to the US Angry. I know this is not a venue for politics but I feel a need to tell my Canadian friends that seriously, we Americans are not ALL a bunch of buffoons ...

We have cruised through some relatively minor holidays but not the traditional big three of Thanksgiving, Christmas and NY. We appreciate the festive yet respectful approach because not everyone celebrates the same holidays.

(Debbie - For the record, we wish we were cruising through that same time period as well.)

We usually like to be home for Thanksgiving & Christmas.  We enjoy cooking a family turkey.  We have, though, taken trips over Easter and the ships were was beautifully decorated for brunch.  AI would love to cruise over New year's Eve.  Someday...

Never dreamed that I would see the day when I was embarrassed to be from the US!
