CruiseLine Price Alert for the WIN

CruiseLine has gone and done it again.

I received a price alert for my upcoming cruise.

With a lot of assistance from my TA (Thanks Mike and Amy!!!), I was able to drop $1000 off my fare. (Net losing $1000 OBC, gaining $400 OBC and auto grats for 2, I am basically $800 richer.

If you haven't already done so, you really should sign up for it. It has saved me cash on every cruise I have used it for, and it is FREE.

Sweet deal Rebel .. way to go

Rereading the post, I sound like a salesmanSad

Thanks - but the credit goes to the app and the TA.

Yea, for you! Mine is back to where we started after going way up!

That’s great BDREBEL!

Mine never went up - it just stayed steady for about a year, cycling through the different "sales".

It seemed quite high compared to past sailings, so I guessed (hoped) it would go down to be similar in price.

It still has a couple of hundred to go to meet last year's price, but with OBC and other bennies, it is there.

This feature is great. I once saved $800 with Price Alert.

How do I adjust my paid cruise with the lower price?

As long as it is not past final payment date (and you booked through the cruise line, not through a travel agent), you should be able to call the cruise line and ask to adjust your fare. Basically, what they do is cancel your present booking and then rebook you under the new fare. You will probably lose any extras included in the old fare, but will get any extras advertised with the new fare.

If you booked with a travel agent, give them a call and ask them to take care of it. You will not be able to go through the cruise line yourself if a TA booked it.

If it is past final payment, then you are probably stuck with your current fare -- but it wouldn't hurt to call anyway.

I used the price alert and saved 150 dollars so far.

I just signed up for two cruises, keeping fingers crossed!
