Reason not to attend a Cruise Critic onboard meet & greet: cruise roll call members complaining about a 50 cent/day increase in tips to hard working onboard service staff. These are the people to avoid on a cruise and Cruise Critic Community Boards attracts them. Shouldn't advertisers want to avoid them too?

If you have the time for some fun reading while having your question answered, this is the place for you. If you'd rather here from 101 different self proclaimed experts, all with differing "the only correct answer", then CC may be better.

I attended one meet and greet set up by the other site, I left after 10 minutes. I found it embarrassing. There was nothing but whining and complaining. I felt sorry for the officers that attended. I not only left the meet and greet I left the site. Fortunatly I found my way here.

Interesting ... I have been to 3 different meet and greets over the past 10 years (set up by my wife as she is a member of that other board) and I heard zero complaining and found the people to be much like what we have here on this group. Last one was in October last year and they were a great bunch. All just there to have fun. Could be that certain cruise lines attract certain types. Not sure but as I said I have had nothing but positive experiences with the M&G and did not hear any complaining at any of them. Cheers.

You were lucky. My experience has been (and I have not recently cruised with NCL) that when not complaining, the members of that other Web site's roll calls are either outdoing one another on giving advice on how to sneak wine/liquor on board in contradiction to the cruise line's policies (as well as how to surreptitiously consume it in public venues) or complaining about minutiae while trying to impress others with their alleged expertise..
