Cruise Line Loyalty Programs

All the major cruise lines have loyalty programs. Some are better than others.  If you could add one perk at a lower level which one would it be for you

Probably a little Internet time for free would be the most useful. A better laundry or shopping discount would be another.

The stupid pins and cheap merchandise, they can keep.  Most of the time we leave them in the room when we disembark.

I agree, Princess awards internet time at the platinum level. It is very nice.

I would also like a dinner for two in a specialty restaurant as a perk lower down.  Sometime I get this from my TA. On HAL I now will get a 50% reduction in the surcharge. Not too shabby though....  I may use the reduction for another visit.

Yes, the dinner surcharge reduction is a great inducement.  Often, we find ourselves booking more specialty restaurant dinners once we go the first time. This applies even more when the MDR has been less than satisfactory.  On NCL, we take the UDP almost without thinking about it so we can avoid the MDR altogether. It isn't that MDR food is that bad, but the noise level makes it impossible for us to enjoy our meals or converse without having to shout.  Like I said in responding to another topic, we prefer to enjoy the experience of dining (as opposed to simply eating) when we cruise.  There is a big difference between the two.

I can understand why after you dine in a specialty restaurant, you want to do it more often.  It is addicting.

I would have to agree with the reduced price or free upgraded dinner for a night or two.

When I'm on a cruise I try and unplug so I'm glad not to have internet all the time.  I can get free internet in any port at a cafe and I take my tablet on all trips to use as a reader.

For a longer cruise 14 nights or more I would like the free bag of laundry at a lower level.  The ships are expensive on laundry and when I take a one month trip I'm not going to pack 30 days of underwear and socks.  I have paid more on a ship to wash underwear then I can buy them for on sale at Walmart.  I have a friend that buys cheap underwear and socks for a tip so he can wear them once and dispose of them.  He says it is about the same price as laundry on the ship or a resort (I could not do that,  so wasteful)

I agree on NCL you need the upgraded dining package,  the MDR on NCL is not acceptable to me for noise, level of service, waiting for a table and some of the food.

Yes, complimentary laundry is always a great perk.  Thanks for replying.

Something (anything) more than a bottle of water would be nice!

Laundry (for me) wouldn't mean much for me (I overpack), but the free or reduced specialty restaurant might be nice. A discounted beverage package (again, for me) would probably stand out above the others.

(After re-reading this, I feel that I must point out that I am not an unwashed wino!)

Maybe the free bottle of water is to wash with ?    Just kidding

I agree about the food on NCL.  We don't cruise much on them anymore.
