Cruise gift cards

So I have been juggling the idea of purchasing gift cards for certain cruise lines.  I was wondering if anyone has used them to purchase a cruise?  My plan was to purchase 1 per month and then when said cruise time comes, just pay it all off with them.  Thoughts?

That can work. We used some to pay for our onboard expenses.

I wish we could buy those gift cards in Canada. We can't take out a Carnival credit card either. Angry

Is that like a Blue Law?

Blue Law? What's that?

Examle,

Bergen Countys Blue Law prohibites the sale of home appliances on Sundays.

Hmmm I don't think it's the same thing. Canadians can't take out credit cards issued by any country but our own. It's likely the same for you .

Wire me the money and I'll mail the card, eh?

This blue is on the books in Ohio,

In Ohio, if you ignore an orator on Decoration day to such an extent as to publicly play croquet or pitch horseshoes within one mile of the speaker’s stand, you can be fined $25.
