Crown & Anchor Membership

My wife and I are seniors in our late seventies. We remained loyal to Royal Caribbean cruises - reaching Diamond Plus level with full of anticipation for the promoted privileges with complimentary cabin upgrade as one of the listed possibilities. Since being Diamond members and then Diamond Plus, there is still no sign of any free cabin upgrade to date though we knew there were so many other Diamond and Diamond Plus members enjoyed free upgrades when we met and discussed at the Diamond Lounge. Is this based on luck or merits or at the will of the cruisers?

Sorry sir, no one seems to have an answer.  I sure don’t.   I suggest calling Royal Caribbean and speaking directly with someone there.

I checked the Crown & Anchor benefits here: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/cas/benefitsLoggedout.do  In the fine print it says:

19 We may, in our sole discretion, offer complimentary upgrades to Diamond Plus and Pinnacle members if stateroom upgrades are available. Please provide the upgrade preference information requested below, which will be considered if a stateroom upgrade is offered to you. Neither upgrades nor upgrade preferences are guaranteed.

Most often the ships are sold out when they sail, even more so now than in years past, leaving little opportunity for an upgrade.  The upgrades I’ve heard of were on slightly less crowded voyages, like a repositioning cruise.

I am a Diamond member and I sure like the free drinks Happy

Lets not forget some free laundry Big Smile
