Credit Cards and rewards program

So my father (tried to) raise me on the ABC's... Always Bring Cash... He was not a fan of credit and credit cards. With traveling, and rewards programs, there are a number of various Credit Cards people hold, and some for just the rewards program as well.

I have a RC card through BOA (have points saved and never have used them...yet), but I'm curious to some other cards that people may have and why/what are the rewards programs and are they worth your time. Southwest sends me something at least once or twice a week on their card, and I have seen numerous people have them.

Every penny we spend goes on a credit card that earns airline miles and we pay the bill in full every month.  This has gotten us many, many flights over the years and trips that we never could’ve afforded otherwise.

We have a Family Air miles program. Wherever possible we use the Air miles credit cards and when we buy elsewhere we try to find an Air miles supporter. Other that the grocery store ones , others don't work that well. At  least for us.

I have the RCI card,   I have cashed in points for on board credit before,   I think I have about 80,000 points on it now that I have not used.   I also have the Costco Visa through Citibank that does get me cash back every year.   Since i only fly once or twice a year I have never gotten into the reward cards from any airline.

I have a credit card (Carnival) that gives points on purchases. I use it for things I know I will pay off & have budgeted for in my daily life. Also, I use the money I have saved in my 'cruise jar' and know that I can charge that amount on the card during cruising to earn more points. I have saved enough points to pay for flights & transfers to cruise port.

We have an airline card for miles. We have used the miles often.

I like that idea...everything going towards the cause. LOL I have the RC card as well. But I do land tours as well. I am a Marriott Reward member but I have my points converted to air miles for Virgin Atlantic. My Hertz rental car rentals got to my Virgin account as well.
