Cozumel and Grand Cayman - Ports

So my cruise ports are Grand Cayman and Cozumel!!! We are very excited to go to both but i want to to be able to enjoy authentic food in both ports.

Any suggestion on places to go?

we have no excursions books yet,  i haven't seen any that appeal to us. so for now we will just walk the town and do some shopping but i definitely want to try the authentic food.

any hidden  gems that i should go to?

Sorry I don't know of any.

For Cozumel, If you are on Carnival or Princess, there is a pretty good restaurant at the far end of the compound (through the duty free shop, turn left and go all the way to the end).

If you go outside the compound, cross the street and turn left, there is some pretty good shopping.

EDIT: Just noticed you are on RCCL - the above shopping advice should be right outside your dock area (cross the street). Not sure about the restaurants in the area.

I took the Atlantis submarine in Cozumel last year. Great excursion! Well worth it! BTW: It was actually cheaper to book it through Royal Caribbean than to book it directly with the sub!

We have been to both of these ports several times (and will be again on our upcoming cruise) and have found several of the ship sponsored shore tours worth while. We have also just wandered around the dock shopping  area and been quite happy.  Our last visit to Cozumel we did a tequila factory tour and found it fascinating our first visit we toured Tulum.  If you have never been to a Mayan ruin, I highly recommend going there.

Grand Cayman you can always go to Hell (and back).  The most popular things of course is to swim with the sting rays and visit the turtle farm.  If this is your first visit, anything you chose to do will be memorable.

Have fun!

If you go into the jungle in Cozumel to see the ruins I'd suggest you take some bug spray with you.   I bought some Deep Woods Off in the ship store (Way over priced) and used it.   Mosquito city in the jungle,  everyone gets bit.

In Grand Canyon we go to Eden Rock Dive Shop to dive/snorkel. They have lockers to rent to lock up your things. We have been going here for years. It is the Best diving and you can walk to it from the cruise terminal! They have outdoor shower to rinse off and bathroom too.

Cozumel we go to Money Bar and dive/snorkel there also. You have to take a taxi. You can use the chairs for here and they have food and beverages for purchase. We have been coming here for years when it was known as Dzul Ha.

We rented a motorcycle in Cozumel and ate fajitias at a nude beach (guided tour).  We always eat at Fat Tuesdays a restaurant by the pier going to the ship, also there is Margauaritaville we go to also.  My best place to go was an excursion was a Jose Curevo tour in Cozumel and you sample all the liquor they make and at the end (if your sober enough) you eat at a mexican buffet.

In Cozumel, once off the ship look for a taxi (there will be plenty waiting). Ask driver to take you on tour of island. You should expect to pay approx $20 per hour for this. Negotiate price before you get in the cab. Tell him/her what you like (ruins or beach or?) or ask what they suggest. They'll know of great places to eat as well. Perhaps if you're very pleased with them offer for them to eat with you and maybe even pay for their dish. They will be so grateful.

I wish I could go back to Cozumel and have some Chimi-changas... oh my so delicious.

Have a great time! I am so jealous.
