Computer Security / Phishing

I just got an email from "Admin" stating that my email (Yahoo) had exceeded it's quota and will be suspended. To avoid suspension, I had to click a box that stated "Contact Yahoo Service". It was politely signed "The Admin Team".

I checked the address of the sender at it was from a Hotmail account. Deleted without remorse.

Be sure to check who the sender is on your emails before clicking on the links, and never give out your password.

According to my recent phone calls, the IRS will be at my door any day now with a warrant for my arrest.  Just so you know, I wouldn't know how to hide the money I don't have from the IRS.  They haven't sent me any e-mails yet!

The Canada Revenue agency will send a goon squad to arrest me and take me away, but first I must spend a certain amount of money to get an inheritance from a Nigerian Prince. and I have a great job offer from Japan. But I have to get my credit card interest reduced and I won a cruise... what a day. Really---I'm glad I'm that stupid......

Always good advise. Even if it looks legit, look before you click. There was something from PayPal in my spam and I left it there.

Congratulations!  I'm sure you are so very happy!  Sadly, there are people who fall for some of those.

One thing i know about the IRS, they don't use the phone. They like the mail.

So I'm not the long lost relative of the Nigerian guy that kicked the bucket with millions ?   I better put a stop on the 5 new cars I ordered and the summer house and the cruise ship I was going to have built just for myself..... Ahhhhhhhhh

I think I heard a stat that 80 % of e-mails are spam.
