Communicating while on board at no cost ?????

Greetings all,

So here is my question- While on board how can you communicate with others in your party (other than leaving a note in your stateroom)Big Smile

For example, I decide to go grab a bite to eat, and my friend wants to catch a show or whatever, is there a way to communicate to them where you are or where you are going be later. (excluding getting the wi-fi package and texting or calling Nervous) I plan on not seeing my phone for 7 days.... in the safe on day 1 and out on day 7.Wink

Thanks in advance

Some people bring walkie - talkies

Awesome idea... Think we will head that advice

Some cruise lines are starting to have apps for your smart phone that you can text each other on some of their ships.    I'd check with the cruise line.

Some use the small erasable white boards on their doors.

Not sure which line you are cruising, but Carnival HUB app is a free download, and costs 5.00 per person while on board, and Princess has a completely free app. However, both require the use of that darned phone. I have used the dry erase board on the door to good effect. Picked one up from Amazon, just a 9 x 11" flat magnet with dry erase surface on the other side for 3.00. The walkie talkie sounds good, but may be a little noisy. Good luck and good cruising!

NCL has the Concierge app which allows you to interact with the ship as well as other cruisers using the ships wireless at no charge.

Updated... this upcoming trip will be on RCL.

Ahh, that is good to know.

We will be on RCL, I wonder if they offer a similar service, let me check them out.

Without the phone walkie- talkies.

Princess has Princess@Sea with in-app communication that works well if everyone looks at their app.  No cost to use the wifi for that app only.
