Has anyone went on a Christmas cruise? I would love to do that during Christmas time. Was the ship totally miraculously decorated? Were there special events pertaining to Christmas?
Christmas Time on a cruise
I have been on a few ships in the X-mass season. They all Decorate and the ships interiors are very beautiful to look at that time of year. I know Celebrity does do a Thanksgiving dinner option on Thanksgiving night even though we were cruising in Europe. RCI was decorated but the programmed music in the Crown Lounge was nothing but X-mass music.....after a bit it was rather annoying but they changed it when we suggested that it was bad enough to get our large party to stop drinking in the lounge.
I would think that they would need to be neutral with holidays (would need to celebrate Hanukah, Kwanza, etc) I have been to disney during xmas and it was fun. Being from the north, if i'm in warmer weather, its a good holiday..But be prepared to shell out some extra bucks on a xmas/new years cruise!
We have looked at doing a Mexican cruise during Christmas, but due to work constraints it won't happen. Besides, they cost about 50 to 75% more.
I've been on a cruise during Christmas time. I was stressed and got tired of the constant giving at Christmas and none of it came my way. Booking that cruise was a temper tantrum. People who know me---know I am a world traveller. I could use air miles as gift etc. etc. etc. At any rate, I ended up on Tabyana Beach in Roatan, Honduras on Christmas Day.....Wonderful! The ship had gingerbread houses all over the place that were made by past children cruisers. Santa arrived with presents for children in shorts, Hawaiian shirt and sunglasses. On Christmas Day people actually forgot to say Merry Christmas to each other.
