Thinking about taking a Christmas cruise next year.  For those of you that have taken one, how was your experience?

I loved it! Being on the ocean with a view of St. Thomas was much better than a view of our lovely NE snow! The ship was decorated and everything! The kids even got to see Santa!

The prices go up for Christmas cruises, don't they?

Yes, they do by a substantial amount. They are not too bad the few weeks before and the ships are usually all decked out for some great photo ops (with your own "camera"even) and frequently a visit from Santa.

These cruises are more expensive, are they not?

Generally yes the week that covers Christmas and New Years are but the week before Christmas is actually one of the cheapest. We sailed last year Dec 15 - 22. Was quite enjoyable.

They are more expensive.

We have not sailed on Christmas but have been reviewing ships for 2020.
