Choosing cabins - posting for newer cruisers

This is mainly info for new cruisers.  I've been watching "Don's Family Vacations" cruise videos and am learning a few things.  He's a travel agent that does informative videos about vacations including cruises.  I learned a handful of things in this video about choosing cabins.  Thought newer cruisers that swing by might be interested.

Nice video. I think I might have been a bit more specific in emphasizing cabins above and cabins below the cabin one chooses.

I didn't watch the video, but we book at least a year in advance so that we can be sure to get the room we want. We always check the location and make sure there are cabins above and below us, not a nightclub or galley or other potentially noisy venue. Often times, we are on one of the two lowest floors which we prefer for stability and quiet when sleeping.

We just booked the same cabin for the 5th time.

That's a great idea. We have the same room number as we had on another sister ship, but we haven't cruised on the same ship even a 2nd time yet,
