Choosing a cruise because of the entertainment or theme

Have you even chosen a cruise because of the featured performers or the theme? Carnival has had big name performers onboard, another line has had finalists from Master Chef for a week to offer cooking classes, Property Brothers were on a cruise to teach guests all about home renos and buying homes, Weight Watchers has had group cruises with fitness classes, cooking classes and more.

I've considered cruising on MSC Divina a couple of times when they have hosted the Weight Watchers cruises, but haven't done so yet. Now, if they would offer a staff discount for the cruise, I might be more tempted to book it. Wink

That Weight Watchers Cruise must be tough. Being shown everything you CAN’T eat.

I promise to keep the biscuits and gravy to one layer on my plate

Although, if they need an example of what not to do and what foods to avoid.....and they pay my fare, sign me up !

” Can anyone tell us what are the healthy items on B’s tray today ? “.

“ I know, is it the three olives in his martini ? “

‘ Very good sir “. “ Anything else ? No ? Okay then, let’s hit the gym. “

There are various 'Theme Cruise' sites out there. I did a search once after someone suggested a theme cruise and was AMAZED at just how many theme cruises there are!

I wish you could cross-reference a particular cruise to find out if ANY theme cruises are on YOUR cruise, but have not found that link yet.

P.S. Three olives - lol - exactly what I do too!

Not yet! I checked out a few with a Renaissance theme and one with evine shopping channel (DH disapproved this one). We did book a cruise for a shore tour once. St. Lucia had a treasure hunt on Pigeon Island from the Brig Unicorn which was the ship used by Disney for Pirates of the Caribbean. It was great fun and worth the whole cruise.

Yes I have and it was with MSC. The cruise was a bit more expensive but there was double the amount of entertainment on board. A group of us went twice and we all had a good time..

We saw Journey aboard the Splendor in St Thomas. I didn't choose this cruise solely because of the concert but was a factor. It was a good show and a fun cruise.

We have looked into it a couple of times. They are more expensive than usual. We looked at a cruise with Carnival, we were looking at going, then found out the price doubled overnight when the entertainment was announced. I think the theme of any cruise is to relax, so we won't be paying more for the entertainment when we might not even go to the show.

Nope. Never. Just to have fun and the destinations.

If you had a good time, then it was definitely worth paying extra.

Attending a cruise on a ship would be great since it such a small venue compared to the usual ones on land.
