On the Holland America Westerdam as we speak. Very polite crew. I didn't think I would need winter clothing traveling to the caribbean. This ship was absolutely freezing. Had to buy a sweatshirt in the gift shop. Maybe it's their way of having passengers spend more money. Speaking of money...Nothing is free. To take a tour of the ship behind the scenes cost money.  Water and soda even cost  $$$. Shore excursions aren't inexpensive either. $30 a person to be taken to a beach for 3 hrs and still have to pay for a beach chair!! SMOKING should be totally banned!!! The whole second floor where the casino is stinks!!

Oh FFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!,,,,,,

You're whining to people that are stuck at home.

SHUT UP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I find it hard to justify charging for a behind the scenes tour of the ship. Maybe they do it to limit participants and to make a few bucks, too, of course.

You did not mention whether there had been complaints lodged regarding the temperature issue.

As for the additional costs, none of what you mentioned is unusual or unexpected as far as what we have experienced. These are things you probably read about when researching cruises but the reality of it is coming as a shock... and that is unfortunate.

Hope things get better as the cruise continues.

I am sure that the Corporation Pop would not have been chargeable

First time cruiser perhaps? Freezing in the caribbean? Were you born on the sun? Wow, what a ridiculous post!

FYI - The Crown Princess charged a substantial amount of its B-t-S tour. I think it is becoming the standard practice and it is yet another revenue center.
