Cheapest Times To Cruise

We all know that the most expensive times to travel are around holidays and when kids are off from school  Here's a list of some of the less expensive weeks to take a cruise.

I was wondering how many of you choose your cruise dates around price?

I've done 2 cruises in the end of April/early may (but of course I did not pay for them). I just booked a cruise in the end of September. Decent price, got a balcony, we will see how the seas fair and how many kids are on the boat.

The criteria for us has always been the itinerary for the cruise , not the dates. We have to arrange holidays so while the dates are important, they are not the primary focus.

Airfare plays a bigger part for me than the cruise price.  Because I fly out of LAS (Las Vegas), I take advantage of really super air deals, then plan cruise accordingly.

If I see a good deal that I like I c book the cruise.

Normally I plan for the shoulder or off season, but the next cruise in April is set for birthday celebrations.

When we cruise with all the kids, it has to be June or July since one of our SILs is a teacher.  When we cruise without the married kids, we have done Feb, May, and Sept--three times for Sept since that is when we have found the best deals.  We'd rather go cheaper and more oftenBig Smile

Wish I could take advantage of the cheaper cruise times.  I teach so my free dates are when the kids are off and the rates are high. In 7 more years (retirement Happy), I can take advantage of the cheaper rates and sail more often.
