Carnival sunshine out of New York

Hi we are thinking of booking this ship in sept16 to sail out of New York, while we understand it is a family orientated ship, we were wondering if there is anywhere you can go that is adult only where you can have a read and a relax. Also has anyone bought the drinks package and is it worth buying at 49.99 dollars a day, and is it true you cannot activate it till the 2nd day.  Sorry for all the questions were very new to cruising and getting confused by all the choices thank you in advance.

The Sunshine is a great ship.  There is an adults only area to read and relax.

I have not been on the Sunshine nor do I ever buy the beverage package.  Many passengers do however and feel that it is worthwhile.  Just wanted to wish you a wonderful cruise.  Be sure to post a review on your return.

Thanks for your reply, did you get the drinks package by any chance and are the cabins OK.

Depending on the Cloud 9 Spa we would consider the Sunshine.  The one on the Splendor was disappointing.  The elevator for the spa cabins was down all week. The pool was small and crowded( compared to the Gem and the Breakaway ).  The locker room was dark and dank.   If anyone can provide info on the Sunshine Spa I would appreciate it.  Thanks.  Happy

We were on it this past February out of Port Canaveral. They have a gorgeous Serenity deck. If you are looking at a September cruise it shouldn't be over run with kids as there back in school. They have 4 different comedians when were on board. Great shows, lots of clubs. It's a great pick and we would definetley do it again.

The Serenity is three forward decks of childless bliss, and many other quiet corners to hide throughout the ship.  You will surely enjoy it.

As far as the drink package, I tend not to use it on Carnival, since the entire cabin needs to purchase it (my wife does not drink). There would be no way I could drink enough to break even. Generally, if everyone drinks 6-7 drinks in a 24 hour period, then it would be a good deal.
