Carnival cruisers

In response to review, CrusinTim says ...

Glad you had a good cruise for your first! Your cabin is in an area where balconies were added to the ship during refurbishment some years ago and were not an original part of the ship when built in 1993 in Finland. Looking at the location of E95, it seems pretty high up so I have a feeling that what you were smelling when pulling into port was the possible down-draft of exhaust from the smoke stack. Since the ship was going slower when pulling into port with lesser wind to blow away the exhaust, it may have had some blow down to your cabin. Hope you enjoy your next cruise!! :)

Thanks for the review, welcome to cruising.

Thanks for posting your first review here.  It sounds like overall you had a good cruise.

Thanks for your review of your first cruise.   I think Carnival is like MC Donald's,  MC Donald s is the company where most Americans have their first job and Carnival is where most Americans cruise first.  Carnival is an entry level Cruise line but it is still a great deal and is a lot of fun.

I have had 3 people in a ship cabin before and it was close,   I can not imagine how Cozy it would be with 4.  2 cabins would be less then a suite but each cabin must have one passenger over 21 years old.

Looking forward to your next review to see what line you try next.

Thanks for your review. It looks like you have been assimilated Big Smile

I would not compare Carnival to McDonalds. With Carnival, you still have good service, some of the largest standard rooms in the industry and good food.

It is less expensive than many other lines, and is different from other lines -- not necessarily worse, just different.

OP - Glad you enjoyed your vacation.

I was not comparing food or service.... MC Donald's is the company in the USA where more people have their first job then any other company.  Carnival is Cruise line where most take their first cruise.  Some stay with Carnival for all of their cruising history and others move on.   I tend to bounce around depending on where and when I want to go.

I did not say anything about service or food.  I actually have had better food on Carnival then on the last RCI cruise I was on.  But Celebrity is still the best food and service of the lines I have been on.

Thank you for posting your review. I'm glad it was overall positive.  Bahamas doesn't have the best reputation for shoreside activities so your comment seems to be in line with what I've heard from others.  I've not seen those "better in the bahamas" adverts in a long while so perhaps tourism isn't as important as it used to be?
Next time you cruise, maybe try another line like Royal Caribbean.  It would be interesting to see how you respond to their brand of services.

Looking a bit further into your review, You stated that you wish there were more kids' activites. I don't think that Sensation has the 2.0 upgrade yet, (although I may be wrong) so that may explain a lot. Many of the other carnival ships have waterslides, ropes course, mini-golf, sports deck, etc. Royal Caribbean adds to that a rock wall and other activities.

JusMe - please accept my apology -- my response was not well thought out.
