Is the Thrill Theater really thrilling on the Carnival cruise line?

Depends on the ship. The one Breeze/Vista (smaller theater) sounds like the 3D experience at Disney.

RCI has something similar with their dreamworks experience with 3D and I thought I remember them bringing in IMAX too.

We enjoyed the Thrill Theater on the Breeze, but probably wouldn't spend the money again.  It doesn't compare to an amusement park experience.  It is more like the ones you would find in a mall.

The cartoon clips and roller coaster simulation clip were fun.  The R rated evening show with gory/scary movie clips was cheesy at best.

So if you are looking for something fun and entertaining to do, go for it.

If you are expecting a lifelike simulation, you'll be disappointed.

It's still something you would need to experience yourself.   You're on vacation.  Live a little.  Do it just to say you did it.  Like Dunns River Falls.  We did it once, a long time ago.  Do we need to do it again ? No.
