It's room as that you were so disappointed with your cruise. I don't know what you mean by cattle call embarkation and you neglected to explain. Boarding is generally done as quickly as possible to get the 2000+ guests onboard in a timely manner.
If you find all Communist countries to be the same, I wonder why you booked a cruise to Cuba. I've only heard good things about the resorts, friendly people and nice merchants. How did you find it depressing? Was it because they did not have all of the modern luxuries that we have in North America in our materialistic society?
Handicapped rooms are generally only booked by guests not needing them, when no other rooms are available. Did you check to see what type of room you were going to be in prior to booking?
I have always found that researching the cruise, ports, ship layout etc means that we will have a great time. If you cruise again, perhaps doing some research prior to booking will help you too.
Cuba is on my bucket list but don't know if I will get there now with Visa restrictions in place for Americans.
