carnival liberty east/west cruise w/2 kids (1 with low vision) - touring suggest
We will be 2 adults, 2 girls age 9 and 10. :D
My youngest is "legally blind", in that she has low vision (requires 32 pt font to read print). I am looking for a little help, some suggestions and maybe a little pointing in the right direction towards picking activities both onboard and more specifically at the various destinations that will be inclusive of our needs. i.e. fun for kids, hands-on or interesting adventures. Some choices are automatically disqualified because of her vision (scuba diving - because inability to see gages and age). ;)
I figure some of you cruise vets might be able to point us in the right directions?
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!!!!
I've pasted my schedule below:
25 Aug Miami
26 Aug at sea
27 Aug Cozumel, Mexico
28 Aug Belize City, Belize
29 Aug Roatan, Honduras
30 Aug Geogetown, Grand Cayman
31 Aug at sea
01 Sep Miami
02 Sep Half Moon Cay, Bahamas
03 Sep at sea

Your best bet would be to talk with the camp counselor onboard. Also try the shore excursion staffer. They can help you out because they are more aware of any problems that your child might encounter or this (past) cruise or future cruises. Hope that all of you enjoy cruising in the future also.
I would vote for any tactile events. Such as swimming with Dolphins, Manta Rays etc.
This gets the child in the water, which can be comforting, and gentle creatures always bring smiles.
Give it a thought.
