Love to read reviews with that "So what, were on a cruise" attitude. Good post ;)

Carnival is,  what it is...... think of a floating Wal Mart...... but it is a lot of fun if you have the rite mind set for it.   I have been on the Inspiration a few times and had fun.  I'm going on the Imagination in January,  What better way to start the year then on a ship.

I think a lot has to do with your attitude.  No cruise is perfect even if you pay top dollar.  I find that if there is a problem usually the staff will to fix it.  If the first person you contact can't solve the problem, go higher.  You can't wait until the end of the cruise to complain.  I always fill out the surveys and many times we also write a letter to the head office when we have a very good experience on a ship and name names of those staff members that really impressed us..

I have done the Imagination and its sister the Inspiration that does the same 3 and 4 night trips.  Yes it is scaled back a bit,  but for what they charge we can not even do a few days in San Diego with driving, hotel and food.

You have to go with the attitude that this is just a fun getaway,  not an elegant cruise.   I have had a blast on the short trips.   With the price so low anybody can afford it so you get anybody as fellow ship mates for the trip.  You get kids running and yelling in the hall way not caring that your trying to sleep,  late night and early morning.  You get slow MDR service and never a hot dinner.  But over all you get a lot of fun for a little money.

Ask your reservation agent if the placement of the room will have engine noise.   I always look at a ship lay out when I book so I'm not near the engine or under a club or walk way.
