" The emphasis is on drinking and making this a "Fun Ship". " Um, you know you were booked on a CARNIVAL cruise ship right? They ARE called the "Fun Ships" and have been for MANY years!

May I suggest for a quiet place deck 11, walk forward through the hall way of cabins to the deck at the front of the ship. For a more updated ship her sister the Inspiration was just dry docked with a lot of new features added. I also noticed that the food and service is better on the Inspiration.
The 3 and 4 night cruises on Carnival are known as party cruises. it is far from Crystal, but so is the price point. It is a great fun inexpensive getaway.
I guess we simply have very different ideas as to what "Fun" means. Loud, semi-drunk passengers; busy bars; crowded areas and and very average entertainment isn't my of "Fun". The ship is old and has the feel of a dated "Reno Casino" with neon lights and garish decor. The only true positive experiences were embarkation, on board staff and disembarkation. These were true pluses and I would rank them very highly as compared to other cruises I have experienced.
May I suggest reading reviews prior to booking your next cruise. Often times previous guests will share their thoughts. Carnival has really focused on the 20 something type crowd with the whole "Fun Ship" experience, even though anyone can book. They are quite well known for loud music, drinks flowing and partying well into the night.
Sadly, you do get what you pay for and there is a reason why Carnival is the cheapest of the lot.
I kinda like the old Reno Neon Garishness.
I will admit, however, I am too old for the Carnival crowd.
