Disappointing first cruise

In response to review, CrusinTim says ...

Don't be so quick to want to write off cruising based on your first cruise. Keep in mind, the Carnival Imagination is 21 years old! Over those 21 years, at a passenger sailing capacity of 2634 2 times a week (based on 4 day sailings), that is almost 6 MILLION people that have graced the ships passage ways! That is a lot of wear and tear on a ship. Before giving up on cruising, might I suggest you try a newer ship. I think you will find the sailing on a newer ship apples to oranges when compared to your sailing on the Imagination.

Our first cruise just 4 yrs ago was on the Imagination and we loved the ship. Yes, it is an older and smaller ship, but even on the newer bigger ones, it's impossible to really swim in the polls. They are great for getting cooled off and having fun, though. No ship could have a pool big enough for that many passengers to use.

Also, please remember that there are about 2000 people being served so the food is bound to be similar to banquet food, not a 5 star restaurant quality. We'd sure be paying a lot more for our cruises to get that quality of meals!

Smaller ships have fewer arcade games because there are typically fewer people playing the games - makes sense, right?

As for the smell ‚ well ‚ unfortunately there are cruise guests who have flushed things down the toilets which clog the system and that will produce the smell. Hopefully it didn't happen for the entire cruise.

Beside these few disappointing things, I hope you were able to enjoy the relaxing time on board, the shows, and other activities going on during the day and evening, as well as‚ the ports you visited.

I was very‚ brief and polite in the review I was requested to give. Let me be very clear, I have no interest in wasting my money on something‚ like this ever again. I did not ask to be told my expectations or experience were out of line. I gave my feedback.

No one was trying to tell you that your opinion was out of line. We were just trying to give you a little insight of our opinions as well with the hopes you may want to try another line or ship from our past experiences. That is why members are given the option to reply to review posts. You may have had a bad (or less than expected) first cruise experience and some of us have sailed numerous times (I have sailed 13 times) and are just trying to offer options and insight from what we have experienced over the years.

I think we have different expectations of vacation and value.‚

I regret making the review and now cannot figure out to delete it so I can move on and forget about this all together.

And this has been a fabulous reminder‚ of why I do not generally post reviews or points of opinion.

Lighten up Francis.

whatever type of vacations you have taken in the past are what you are used to. Maybe cruising isn't for you. It's not for everyone. My advice. Try again. On a larger and newer ship. Possibly Royal Caribbean. Lots of family entertainment.

SGT Hulka, the big toe.

The big toe....LOL

I had to call on Uncle Google for help. It's been years since I've seen Stripes.

Perhaps sail on a new ship....
