Carnival Glory Upgrade

I am booked for 4/22/17 on Carnival Glory and I think we booked a great time to cruise. April to me is the best month to be in the Caribbean. The water temperature is perfect and it is not during the hurricane/rainy season so that makes it perfect.

The best news is that this cruise will be a month after the ship comes out of dry dock. It should be in good condition and any work that they did not get to complete during dry dock and may need to continue doing during cruises should be done by then. During dry dock the ship will receive a waterworks and three new slides. Should be exciting especially for families traveling with children. FUN FUN FUN

Have you been on any cruise immediately after dry dock and work was still being done? If yes, did it cause any inconvenience to you? My friend is going on the Glory 3/11/17 which will be the first cruise after dry dock and she is worried about this. I think this was an issue with Carnival Victory.

Very surprising to find out that they already took down the twister slide on the Glory to add the waterworks. They are in the middle of a cruise right now. Currently docked in Grand Cayman. There is still another cruise starting Saturday before the ship goes into drydock. I am sure those passengers are not happy at all. No waterslide for the current cruisers. That is why I would never book shortly before or after drydock. You can see the image from the link below of the waterslide area blocked off and the current waterslide being taken down.

Sometimes when you book way out (1yr. or more) the dry dock schedule isn't available yet. So it we did this last Jan. But I would avoid it if I was aware of the dry-dock schedule.

I have never experienced this first hand but have read about such problems on reviews post here.

Lots of cruisers will be angry. They already took down the slide and block that ar a off and there is still another cruise after the current one before dry dock. They will also be working on the ship for about another two weeks after drydock. See information below from the horse's mouth:

We were on the Splendor when they were changing the carpeting in the hallway outside our cabin. You could smell the adhesive all day long for about three of the seven days. Expect a few glitches and some extra work being done around the ship.
