Sorry to read that you had such a bad experience on your cruise especially since you had your child with you.  I hope that you have better luck on your next cruise.  I'm sure that you do know that you can reduce those pre-paid gratuities if you want to do so?  Most cruise lines make you pre-pay them.  I think that Princess does not.  Gloria
