Yes, this is a common thing on almost all cruise lines. It ensures that the crew are compensated for all their hard work - many of whom you never even get to see. They make the ones you do see look good. Weused to have to go all around the ship looking for crew members to tip. This is a much better system. Just count it in as part of the expense of your cruise.
Very much enjoyed this cruise; the staff was all energetic, friendly and accommodating. Ship was in good shape, our room was spacious and we really enjoyed having 2 portholes in the room.
Both ports of call were appealing; with Cozumel obviously being more touristy and tasteful than Progresso. Friendly people everywhere; we were never bothered or harassed.
The weather was sunny, warm, and the perfect amount of humidity to freshen up the Northerners from Winter Blues.
The only thing we would like to have been aware of beforehand were two service charges added to our bill at the end of the cruise. We definitely appreciated the staff's hard work and planned to reward them accordingly; however a surprise 100+$ on the bill was a shock.
Overall a great vacation. Shout out to the cruise director Mikey who really put in his all and united the "Carnival Fantasy Family".
Super on having a good cruise. Fantasy maybe Carnival's oldest ship but she is still a good ship and gives a great cruise.
