Carnival Expands Its Presence at Port Canaveral

By now you all know that Carnival Sunshine will have a test cruise to Bermuda in October from Port Canaveral.    Other Port Canaveral news about Carnival is that the Carnival Victory will replace the Carnival Sensation in February.  The Victory is 34% larger with more amenities and features.  The Carnival Magic (Dream Class - Carnival's newest class)  will reposition to Port Canaveral in December 2016.  Great news from the port that is Orlando's closest port.

If you look at the cost to sail from Florida to Bermuda on Carnival, there is a difference of quite a bit as opposed to sailing on NCL from Boston, for about the same time frame and stay in Bermuda.

I would have expected Carnival to be less that NCL no so much more.

Just sayin....

Good point but if you live in Florida and have to fly to Boston to take that cruise ... I'll have to look at the difference in cost to do it that way. Thanks for piping in.

Hi Johngold, I went to each of the cruise line's Websites - NCL & Carnival to compare the prices for similar sailing dates. If I wanted to book a 7-day NCL Dawn cruise in Oct. 2015 on NCL from Boston on the Website I get for 10/9-10/16 for an Inside cabin $999 - Ocean view $1,199. For Carnival Sunshine for a 8-day cruise I get on October 2, $769 inside vs. $949 Ocean view. You also have to take into account that you spend one more cruise day on Carnival. Also I would hit warmer weather leaving from FL than I would from Boston and I would not incur any airfare costs. Do you get different rates?
