When I book a ship cabin I always have the deck plan open on my computer so I can see what is above, below and close by to the cabin. Besides that the cabins in the front of the ship can get a lot of noise when the anchor drops. Think of each rung of the chain hitting on the metal wall of the ship in the way down at 5 AM. Also look for Crew passages that are in use 24/7 crew coming in and out all day.
Remember Carnival is "The Fun Ship" and it is all party and high volume noise and people packed in.
Best luck on your next cruise.
It is smart to use the expert services of a TA. Once we really wanted to take a cruise last minute but everything was booked. We called our TA all excited because we finally found an available cabin. She checked it outonly to tell us that it was under a public restroom not shown on the deck plan. Eventually she found us a better cabin for less money. With all the plumbing problems on ships, you don't want a cabin under a public restroom. Nor do you want one by a teen hang out. Honestly, I just think the the placement of your cabin was the problem. You would have gotten good nights sleep away a from the noise. I have been on 12 or more Carnival cruises and we never had a bad night's sleep due to noise. Otherwise we would not keep returning to Carnival. What really disturbs is the Carnival staff not checking on what was going on inside the club room. Someone could have gotten hurt and they would have a lawsuit on their hands.
Welcome to the world of cruising. I hope that the noise problem doesn't deter you from cruising again with Carnival. Just chose a stateroom away from all the public areas and you will be fine. Thanks for posting your first review here. Here's hoping that your next cruise gives you good nights of sleep every night. You need it because everyone gets exhausted from all the sightseeing trips onshore - at least I do. I welcome sea days to just relax and enjoy the ship. Happy cruising!
Oh, thanks for posting a photo from your cruise. I always enjoy seeing a photo. The crew do a good job in the dining room performing for the guests who enthusiastically get caught up in the excitement. It is always fun to see your server dancing or singing.
Thank you for your review.
I actually posted a response to this but it does not appear on the response list.
Carnival is a "fun ship" and the target demographic is the younger, party-age set. We do not cruise with this line anymore as a result.
