Sorry you had to experience this issue but I would like to point out a couple of things. The first is that luggage transfer from curbside to ship is controlled by the port workers and not Carnival cruise lines. Your luggage being left behind is the fault of the Port of New Orleans and you may want to contact them. The customer service rep went above and beyond in helping you get some kind of clothes to hold you over until your luggage was forwarded to the ships next port. To ask for a full refund AND a discount on your next cruise from Carnival is not warranted since it was not their fault. I have read many stories in the past of cruisers that had their luggage lost by the airline. All the cruise line can do is contact the airline for you and try to find your luggage and have it sent to the ships next port. Kind of the same situation here. As for Grand Cayman, I can only assume there may have been a storm system in the path of the ships route anticipated so the Captain decided for safety reasons to to avoid having to change the itinerary to sail early. I have sailed 12 times and 5 of those with Carnival (including the Dream in 2010) and as unfortunate as it is, situations like yours are isolated incidents. Don't give up on Carnival for things that were not in their control. As I said, contact the Port of New Orleans for an explanation. Best of luck on your next sailing.......
