Carnival Announces Roller Coaster

Carnival has announced that their first XL ship Mardi Gras will have a rollercoaster on the top deck. It looks like the location will be similar to the SkyRide but with obviously a much longer track and going around more area of the ship.

What do we think? I think it's an awesome idea but I'm kind of concerned about noise - the SkyRide on Vista and Horizon is virtually silent except on the parts of the track when it dips down. Most rollercoasters are louder than that. I wouldn't want to feel like I'm lying directly under a theme park ride while chilling by the lido pool!

I had no idea what "COASTERKINGS" hidden addiction was....none at all...none, I say...hehehehehe

WOW let me get in another line! I so have to try it!

Sounds like a great idea for both young and young at heart!

Looks amazing, I would totally do that!

I wonder if they'd let me wear my gopro...

Unlikely, they will not let you on the sky ride .

Obviously, not all share my idea of a cruise. LOL---When the Norwegian Bliss came out with a two-deck Go-Kart track where racers reach 30 mph, plus multi-story water slides on the same vessel, this year, I thought I had heard it all. But now a roller coaster, what is next?

From reviews it appears that some of these ships loaded with amusement park adventures, etc. sacrifice public deck space, like sun bathing, in order to facilitate all these on board merriment activities. I would hate to have a cabin directly below a race track or roller coaster. Wonder if they will combine all this with the "booze cruises" too. Wow.

Anyway, I wish the investors in this stuff and their cruise line guests all the best but count me out.

I hope the lines aren't excessive like the put put golf and the sky deck on the Carnival Magic

Sure it will be loads of fun

They let us wear our GoPro, AuntPinkie! And we were on the same voyage as you. As long as it was attached to our body they said it was okay.
