Can i bring it with me?

Hi All, i am new to this forum and am new to cruises, My family and i will be going on our first cruise in Nov and i don't know what to expect.

One of my many questions is can i take a package of water with me? i have heard you are allowed 2 bottles of wine but i wanted to be able to have bottled water in my room but i know if i get it from the ship it will be super expensive.

I will be on a Royal Caribbean Cruise if that helps any.

any info will be greatly appreciated.

Well first off welcome aboard...Im sure a buncha other folks will welcome you as well..its a grand group...to answer your question...Ive sailed on RC 3 times...its not my fav line, but that's neither here nor there.  TWO bottles of wine per stateroom, and supposedly you can only drink it in there...on the other hand, how do they know what you're sipping as you wander...as to water, yes you can't....they SAY you can't, but I did, in my carry on, and no problem..all 3x times..so I think their prohibition is more geared to people bring hard liquor on board...whats the worst that can happen??? not much in the scheme of things.  When we cruise now, mostly NCL, I really don't even think about it....we carry as little as possible onboard.....

Welcome to cruising and the forum.  I can't tell you the current policy on RCL, but I'm sure there will be someone with recent experience who can. Because of those people that felt the need to smuggle alcohol, Carnival Cruise Line has gone to the no bottled water route.  You can bring canned or box water or (their preference, of course) pre-ordered water.  Hope a regular RCL cruiser answers your questions soon.  Again, welcome!

Welcome aboard. Enjoy your cruise and the company here while waiting for your next one.

Welcome to the forum. Where I do not know the policy of Royal Caribbean, I do know some of the other cruise lines. They are all pretty much the same. They will not let you take water onboard. To much booze smuggling going on with water bottles so they basically shut it down. We will usually pre buy water from the cruise line prior to boarding. It will be delivered to your room at a reduced price at least it has been that way on Princess and Carnival.

Welcome to the group. You will get some great responses here. A good board with sound advice.

I looked into pre ordering and a 12 pack was like $80 so I will not be doing that.

A 12 pack of 1 liter bottles cost $47, a 24 pack is $82, Although that is a lot of water, it is too expensive.

On the other hand, the tap water is probably cleaner than the bottled water, and it is free.

Well I had to go look...NCL's "new" price is 44.95 for a 24 pack of 1 liter bottles.  a big price DECREASE...plus don't forget the svc charge on it...anyway, they have banned bringing any fluids on, although I have brought a six of water each on our carry ons, and nobody even blinked..having said that, I don't think ill  bother the next one in a couple of months. and BD...you're right...and got me to thinking...THAT could be an interesting thread....hmmmm...

Ok so the 24 pack is $80ish but damn that is crazy I know 1 liter is a good amount but I buy that (1liter 24 pack) every week for work for $6 . I am going to take my chances and buy a pack of water when I land and put it on my carry on and see what happens.

I understand theres a remake of "PAPILLON" coming out shortly....heheheh
