Camera or Cell Phone for Travel Photos?

I am wondering how many of us still rely on a camera when taking travel photos?  I see more and more travelers using tablets or cell phones now.  How about you?

I haven't owned a camera since my SLR 201 was stolen from me and I'm happy with my phone and tablet.

I am the photog and if we are going someplace new, I bring my Nikon DSLR. It is worth lugging the camera bag. Europe and the South Pacific have been worthwhile destinations.  Otherwise, my iPhone takes great pictures.

As an aside, I don't get easily annoyed but fellow travelers who insist on using their iPads as cameras need to be a bit more situationally aware.  When raising up their iPad, they block out the view for everyone standing behind them.

Monique uses her digital camera and I have a waterproof one. We have new phones but they are expensive and can get busted up if jostled.

I still prefer a camera.  Guess I'm old school.

My wife insists on the digital camera. I usually use my phone (when I think of taking picturesBig Smile)

DD & DH use their cell phones.  I am the world's worst photographer, so I don't bother taking pics much anymore.  I agree with the point about those who use tablets blocking other peoples' views.  That drives me bonkers even quicker than a selfie stick does.

It depends on where my destinations are going to be. I know for Alaska, I will be bringing my good DSLR.... This last cruise, I was perfectly fine with my phone camera.
