Cabin dilemma

Hi all, this will be my first cruise and am learning so much now, that I should have researched before hand...

my Dilemma is our cabin...Lido deck, I wasn’t happy that we are right near stairs and elevators, then I find out laundry right opposite our door...I spoke with TA, sorry can’t move you, ship full...I had paid for balcony, and she told me this was an up grade, from what?? So goodness knows what original cabin was to be...

i will never go through TA again...but being a first cruise I thought it would be wise to...I have let her know how unhappy I am with this, her attitude is, not my problem...

can anyone tell me what I will be in store for, noise wise...

sorry this is so long...thank you...

I've noticed the Lido Deck is usually quieter because there are less people walking the hallway-only people walking the hallway are in one quadrant-you don't get the people walking the entire length of the ship like on most floors

Thank you, sounding better...

Enjoy your cruise and if there are a few noises or inconveniences due to location do not let it ruin the fact that you are on an awesome vacation on an awesome ship. Bon voyage.

Having a stateroom *on* the Lido deck is almost certainly preferable to having a stateroom *beneath* the Lido deck. And, despite the seemingly conventional wisdom, I actually prefer staterooms near the stair/elevator well, and have never noticed undue noise.

I'm guessing that you should be fine. Don't sweat it; just go about enjoying your cruise!

I love using my TA and not worrying about the little details. I have never had an issue being near an elevator, not noisy to me. When it's busy, you're typically out and about too. I doubt that the laundry room will be a bother either. Most people don't use that at all. I can't imagine that people would be running around in there partying with their dirty clothes at sleeping hours. I think you will have a great time.

thank you, I know it will be fine, just wasn’t sure,as first cruise...ðHappy

Looking forward to your review when you return. Have a wonderful adventure!Big Smile

Can you tell me what’s wrong with the deck below Lido? Which is Marina

Being a novice I have no idea, unless noise from the Lido deck...hopefully someone with the know will be helpful for you...Enjoy ..⚓️⚓️🙃

Like most "bad" locations on cruise ships, being under the Lido is not always a problem.

I did it once on Liberty of the Seas and had no issues at all.

However, you are taking a chance that any loud parties or movies on the Lido will keep you up late. In the morning, the crew gets up early and prepares the Lido for the next day. This frequently involves annoying activities like dragging deck chairs across the floor (which would in turn be your ceiling).
