Booking Question

So my father is taking the whole family on a cruise next summer, he has already booked and I am not sure if he just did a down payment, or if it has been paid in full already. He had my Carnival VIFP number when he booked so I will get credit for the cruise. I don't see it showing up under my cruises etc. Does it now show up until it is paid off? Or do I need to get the booking number from him for it to show up?  I know it is a year away but I wanted to make sure he has all the info correct for me, hubby and son. In the past, my hubby and I just paid for it all upfront, we never did payments on the trips.

Thanks!

First congratulations, what a fun trip! Second, this is my opinion of what you need to do.  Check to see if it automatically got added by looking at "Manage my cruise".  If not, get the booking number and see if you can add it.  I have had situations when it was added to my VIFP number and not my husband's (and the reverse as well).  If the computer won't accept it, call Carnival at the 800 number and ask.  Just a quick question, do you need anymore family members?Wink

Big Smile Too Funny, every one has asked me the same question! Ha ha! I have a few friends that plan to book the same cruise and "crash" the party as well. It should be fun. It will be our 1st cruise with our son, and i'm a little nervous but i am sure it will end up being great.

I will ask him for the booking number tonight, the trip is still over a year away so I am jumping the gun a bit, but want to start planning and figuring things out soon. I thought maybe it wouldn't show up until it was paid in full. I am already excited, and can't stop daydreaming about being on the Lido deck with a DOD in my hand.. Ahhh

It should show up as soon as the deposit is made and a booking number is generated. We have booked close to cruise time and paid in full immediately and over a year out;  the excitement is just as intense either way.  Have fun!

I got the booking number and it worked! I guess since I didn't book it that's why it didn't show up under my name.

Now I get to see the countdown and be overly excited for a very long time Big Smile

That’s such a wonderful gift from your dad. Seeing the countdown and now exploring excursion choices, learning about the ship etc will be so fun. Happy

It is, I told him we would pay for the upgrade to a balcony since my hubby and I can't do a regular cabin. We both get a little claustrophobic. My dad said not to worry, but now I can make a payment here and there to help out towards the upgrade.

I've looked at excursions and I am a bit apprehensive about a lot of them that go far from the ship so I might use those as ideas to book something on our own, or maybe just do beach days. Not sure how my son will be on long trips etc Either way, I am officially excited, and my son can't wait as well.

How exciting for you, your Dad and the whole family.  I hope that you all have a blast.  I would wait a bit and then see if it shows up, if not call the cruise line.

Your cruise will not show up under the VIFP until you have actually taken the cruise. I had this same question a few years ago and one of the reps told me you do not get credit for the cruise until you have actually taken it just in case you decide to cancel or whatnot.
