Booking Flights

How far in advance do you frequent flyers tend to book a flight? Our cruise isn't until Dec and I have been monitoring flights since I booked the trip back in March & so far the current price is the best I've seen as there is a sale on. But is it too early? I am pretty sure they are non refundable so I don't want to jump on it then regret it but there are 4 of us, the cheaper I can get the flight the better since we also have to pay for checked luggage as well as our vehicle parking at the airport for 11 days.

What is typical?

Thanks in advance!

I book the airfare when I book the cruise, or occasionally if I see a great deal to a particular city, I'll book the airfare and then find a cruise to match :)

We book the flights as soon as we book the cruise, which is about 10 months to a year in advance.

It depends, but we usually book on Southwest as soon as the date opens....especially if it might be date that are peak travel.  We already have our air booked for our January cruise so now is not too early.

We book flights soon after we book a cruise.  I suggest booking if you found a good price. You may find a lower price later but at least you know that you have seats at a good price.

We are also sailing in December but I just booked our flights.  Because we return so close to Christmas, the price just wasn't going down.  So, we locked it in now.
