Booked Alaska Early

Booked 14 day Alaska over a year before we travel. Since the Amsterdam is a small ship, I'm glad we did. Anyone else taking this voyage ; 08/10/12 out of Seattle ?

We sailed Alaska on the Amsterdam in 2007, and loved the ship. My girlfriend and I got engaged in the Pinnacle Grill as we sailed away from Ketchikan, then got married on a beach in New Zealand the following year :)

In August 2012 we were in Alaska aboard Celebrity Millennium.  We probably passed each other! Happy

We sailed Nieuw Amsterdam to Alaska in August 2016.  Coincidence? Big Smile

I think the decor inside Amsterdam is beautiful.  I love it's large collection of art.  The staff was great.  The cruise I did was a reposition from San Diego to Vancouver.  The Amsterdam was getting ready for the 2016 Alaska cruise season.

In 2012 I still hadn't taken my first cruise yet.  Now I'm a cruise junky.  Spending countless hours on a cruise forum reading and posting about cruises.  My addiction has even driven me to resurrect five year old threads.

'Speaking of Nieuw Amsterdam, that ship was docked in Vancouver when we arrived there on HAL Amsterdam in May 2016.

LOL, hold on, LOL.  The original post is five years old.  I brought it forward to give Bak1061 a hard time since he hates old threads brought forward.

WeCruiseToo is in on it as well.

I know it's that old - just adding to the fun of commenting on old threads to tease him.
