Boarding ship

How early do I need to get to port so that I don't have to wait in line so long? Also, what time will they start letting you park at Charleston port?

If you are sailing on Carnival, you need to select a check-in time on your online check-in.  You can do that as soon as the times are released, even without paying your cruise off or completing the online check in.

The new procecedure has helped with the long lines.  In our experience, you won't be able to enter the terminal to check-in before your scheduled time, unless you are Diamond/Platinum, suite, or have FTTF. In those instances, you still need to select a time, but you'll be allowed to check-in at your leisure, including the earliest time slot, and you will have a designated check-in lane to bypass those who don't have priority.

Agree with GrandmaJo , so far Charleston is my favorite port, look for your time and it should be ok,

Cruising in June with RCI from Singapore, any comments on restriction for early boarding..

We are flying in to Singapore early hours of boarding day, don't want to miss out and be waiting on the pier..!

My advice would be to take a shuttle. It's a small port and you'll need to park down the street in a warehouse garage.

The hotel I stayed offered park and stay with shuttle service to the port.

what hotel did you stay at?

I stayed 2 nights at the Hampton Inn in Mt. Pleasant just across the Arthur Ravenel bridge.

I opt there for a couple of reasons, rewards points and it's with in minutes of Patriot Point.

I'm planning a NYE cruise for 2019 and I'm down to 2 port,  JAX and Charleston. I'm leaning towards JAX but I've got a friend nudging me to pick Charleston. Thanks Bonnie......

Thank you ... Great information.

If you get there after 5 pm, I guarantee, there will be no line.

there also won’t be a ship, but you only asked about lines.

That’s because neither of you have sailed out of NYC Love

I like NYC port. Easy to get in and out of,and can usually board before noon
