Best Meal on a Cruise Ever: Year and Ship?

1999 - Grandeur of the Seas. Italian night in the main dining room. Had a ridiculously good Florentine style steak medium rare. 22 years on and can still remember it. This was before the ship had the 2012 refit so there weren't all of the unique restaurants to chose from.

You can tell I was hungry when I answered.

For best food in a Port I'd have to say lunch on Santorini, we did the Greek Sampler plate with a taste of everything with local wine and beer overlooking the Aegean Sea. I also remember a little pizza place in Rome a block from our hotel that had deep friend breaded stuffed Olives (We spent a week in Rome before our cruises in 2011 and 2012) I also remember a little Cafeteria near the Rialto Bridge in Venice and the Bakery near the back exit of the Jewish Ghetto in Venice.

All of them deserts I see

Cannot really pin it down to one favourite. I usually hit several each cruise with one memorable cruise on the Dawn in Nov 2015 where most of the meals were sensational

May 2013, Norwegian Dawn from Boston to Bermuda. The Bistro. This was the highlight of many travels and even our own home cooking. Best ever. Not since that day have there been anything close to that.

Carnival Cruise Line- Steak House. Service and food were awesome.

The lower and more central you are in a ship, the less roll and sway you will feel. Even if you choose a balconied stateroom, choose the lowest level and the most midship one you can find.

The crabcake sliders at the Seafood Shack on the Carnival Vista July 2019.. memorable because my son stole them off my plate and ate them up and asked for more. They were soooo good. He still talks about the crabby patties he had on the trip.

He doesn't ever want to try new stuff, so for him to do that was amazing for me! :P He also loved their fried shrimp too.

Carnival Breeze 2015

MDR - There was this Asian inspired pasta. It was almost a pasta salad with chicken strips and this zingy dressing. I can't remember the name of it off hand but I do know I look for it EVERYTIME I'm on a Carnival ship now!!

The next one, if they ever let us cruise again. Ours was supposed to be on the Empress, which RCI just removed from the fleet.
