Belize City

Any advice on what excursions are better bang for your buck at the following ports, Belize city, Cozumel and Grand Cayman. Looking for more beach sort of activities. Site suggestions would be great

Excursion are a matter of individual choice, as to whether it’s a good value etc. We enjoyed a full day excursion to the ruins in Tulum and felt it was a good price but have read reviews where other guests felt it was too costly.

In Belize we loved our excursion tubing through the caves and having lunch afterwards. I read a comment where the Guest didn’t enjoy the lunch so they felt it was not money well spent, wishing they had just booked the excursion without the meal.

Hope you enjoy your cruise and whatever excursions you decide to take.

Agree with BonMike, it really depends on your personal interests and what you'd like to do.

In Belize, we did the cave tubing excursion with lunch too, and thought it was a great experience. Mini tour on the way to the site, learned a lot of interesting information during the trek to the river. In Cozumel we got a driver for the day, toured the city, went to a tequila place Happy, and stopped at a couple of beaches. The year before we had the kids & grands with us and just wanted to 'beach it', so we opted for Mr. Sanchos, an all inclusive, which was nice as well. Lot's of folks visit the sting rays in Grand Cayman.

Check out the port reviews as well. Welcome to the forum and have a great cruise!

Thank you for the tips. Also would u recommend pre-booking Cozumel and Belize excursions or when I get there? Saw the cave tubing in Belize which looked good too, but wanted something more along a beach package of some sort, don’t really see a lot those for Belize. Has anyone done any close by beachy excursion, similar to Mr Sanchos is what I have in mind or something very close, thanks again for your advise anyone, greatly appreciated 🙂

Was that a pre-booked excursion or when you got there you just took a cabbie and did all those things like the beaches and tequila tasting?

We’ve been to Paradise Beach in Cozumel - just grabbed a taxi from right outside the port and it was really cheap. The taxi was a van so about 8 of us, who didn’t know each other  piled in and shared the cost, which was really cheap. It was only a few minutes to a great resort.

Wow, thank you for that great tip 👍🏼🙂

Thanks for that amazing tip 👍🏼🙂

I agree with the mates who say this is a subjective choice.  When we were in Belize we were warned not to go off on our own.  We also enjoyed the cave tubing there. Paradise Beach is good in Cozumel.

I highly recommend the cave tubing in Belize.  We booked through the cruiseline--this is one port I wouldn't feel comfortable exploring on our own.  We got to see a lot of the countryside as well.

Cozumel is an easy port to explore on your own.  Taxi stand is located behind the shopping area--very easy to find.

There are gorgeous beaches in Grand Cayman.  We chose to do the combo tour of stingray city/turtle farm/Hell.

That was a lot of fun as well.

We sailed on Norwegian last year, and Belize was one of the ports we visited. Norwegian has its own island in Belize, and they have transformed it into an oasis. There is a beach with chairs or cabanas, ziplining, a swim-up bar in the pool, and all kinds of animals to see (e.g. fruit loop birds, parakeets, snakes, etc. If you have not already booked your cruise, you may want to look into a cruise with Norwegian that sails into Belize. You will definitely not be disappointed.
