Belated (By Years) HOneymoon on the Ecstasy 2/21 to 2/26

Hi everyone, sorry for the delay in writing this! Just been a bit hectic since we got back

Precruise Charleston
We headed down after I got work and saw Dad for a bit. It was great to ride along with just Danyl and myself. We decided to hit a Wendy's drive thru for supper. Then off to Charleston, we hit one bit of heavy traffic on I26 where there was nightly construction. We got to our hotel about 11:45 PM. No problem, we were actually able to relax and have breakfast with out rushing around. We stayed at the Quality Inn Patriots Point, highly recommend this place! It was about 16 minutes from the port.

After leaving the hotel, we stopped by Wallyworld to find some sandals for myself. Headed on to the port, VERY easy embarkation! We did not have FTTF, but we had rented Danyl a wheelchair, so we went through the special assistance line. All of the lines moved rather quickly and everyone was on the ship in less than 15 minutes of getting in the line.

We had a great time on the ship, yes it is a Fantasy class ship, but we kinda like the layout of it. Separate lines for the salad bar and buffet bar on the Lido deck. Enjoyed a salad for lunch. Went to the MDR the first 2 nights, then ate at the lido after that. The balcony was awesome, OK, we are sold on a balcony room! While leaving out to sea, we had a Coast Guard escort, there was a 50 caliber gun on the front with a guy manning it the whole time. I was thinking, wow, that would be fun, then the escort ship turned both motors on and took off after a sailboat that was right in our way, I bet the sailboat people had to change their undies after the gunship went to them and they saw the cruise ship heading right at them :ugeek:

Seaday brunch was great as usual, flaming tomato soup along with Steak and eggs YUM! Chilled out on our balcony quite a bit when on the ship. Formal night was fun, but we have decided that we just prefer dining by ourselves or with our family.

Nassau - we really enjoyed it this time, we did a Top 10 of Nassau, enjoyed learning about Nassau. We were taken to the Twin Brothers Fish Fry for conch salad and a Bahama mama. Then we were shown how they harvest the conch from the shell. The cook then cut it up and I was able to try the very, very fresh conch. Danyl would not try it lol.

Princess Cay - We had some liquid sunshine, so we decided to wait a while before going on the tender. The sun came out and we decided to give it a try. Right when we got on the tender, it started raining. We were on the lower part of the tender, so we went ahead to the island. we just hung out on the island, just seeing how the island was and what it was like. We did not eat at the buffet on the island, the line was very long, I waited through it and even then when I turned the curve towards the serving line, I saw we were still 30 minutes away from the food. I decided that we could head back to the ship and grab a Guys Burger etc.

SeaDay 2 AKA Sad Day at Sea - enjoyed brunch again in the MDR and chilled out on the ship. Packed bags that night and stayed away from the MDR.

Enjoyed the casino, probably a bit too much lol, had a issue with the A/C, but it was being worked on and back on when we returned from supper with 2 drink coupons. The people who had originally had the cabin had their excursion tickets delivered to our room, I took them to the Guest service desk and they gave us 2 more drink coupons for doing that lol. Think they were trying to get us drunk?

We liked the playlist productions for Motown and the British Invasion, did not get to a comedy show. We really, enjoyed being out on the balcony.

I like the layout of the Fantasy class ships, we are rethinking and might go with the paradise out of Tampa for after thanksgiving. Mr Suprano was great as our cabin steward, Brittany did a great job as CD. One person that I know will move up is Houston he is maybe an assistant CD? BUT HE IS GREAT

We will be back!

Awesome!! Glad to hear you enjoyed it. Sounds like a very nice cruise and you have now been spoiled. Balconies are as addictive as cruising.

Glad you had a great time, but really Brian, a Wendy’s drive through ? You couldn’t find a Cracker Barrel for some nice chicken fried steak ?

So glad you enjoyed yourself Brian.. We watched the escort as well it was pretty cool. You seriously mimicked our entire cruise with the exception of extra port at Princess Cays. Great Review!

Being from Canada where there is no Cracker Barrel it is always a must stop on the way to port.

When travelling, Cracker Barrel is a daily must.

Glad you had a great, if not somewhat belated, honeymoon cruise.

A delayed honeymoon can be better than the one right after the wedding, because the day's nerves and excitement are missing. Glad you had a wonderful time. Very good review!

Thanks everyone!

Ya know, we actually had a Cracker Barrel gift card with us (a Christmas gift to us from one of Kyle;s aid), but we just wanted to get on down the road. We did not get started until 7 from out house and we would not get there until after midnight if we stopped to eat.

With that being said, I LOVE THE GRANDPAS FRIED BREAKFAST at the CB.

Great review!! The Ecstasy was our first ship and we loved her :)

I like chicken fried steak! Glad you had a good time.
