Being Escrted To Your Cabin on Embarkation Day

How many of you remember when the staff used to escort you to your cabin and carry your carry on luggage for you?

I remember my first cruise on the Jubalee in 1995, we were escorted to our cabin. That was the last time.

Believe it or not on our two current back to back Vantage river cruises through France, we were met in the lobby, relieved of our hand luggage and escorted to our stateroom. It was a good feeling.

Not me. I can scarcely remember when airline flight attendants walked you to your seat.

I remember in the good old days when HAL's band would play music as you boarded the ship. A staffer would immediately take your hand luggage from you and escort you personally to your cabin. Now on Embarkation Day I see passengers wandering the passageway searching for their cabins.
